Rules

Immanuel Bible Church Men’s Basketball League Rules – 2010 Season

Game Operations

1.         We will be playing by the NCAA men’s basketball rules.  No shot clock.

2.         The referees will allow a tem minute grace period for the first game on Tuesday/Thursday nights and Saturday mornings.  If your team is later than ten minutes you forfeit that game.  All other games will have no grace period.

3.         Games can start and be played with four men.

4.         Before each game teams will be given 5 minutes to warm up.

5.         On occasion people in the league will be given an opportunity to share what God is doing in their lives with other players.  These talks will occur between games and will last 5-10 minutes.  Please gather on the bleachers promptly following the end of the game preceding the presentation.  Teams will still be given 5 minutes to warm up after testimonies.

6.         Prayer precedes every game.  Gather in the center of the court after warm ups.

7.         Games consist of two 20 minute halves.  The clock is always running except for the last 2 minutes of each half, or referee stoppages.  Overtime consists of a 5 minute period with a running clock except for the last two minutes of the overtime.  Starting with a third overtime, sudden death occurs, and the first team to score a point wins.

8.         Each team is given three time outs for the entire game.

9.         Players must report to the scorer’s table to enter the game.  You will be allowed in the game when the referee signals you in.

Other rules

1.         If a player is ejected from a game he may face additional suspensions from other games, at the discretion of the league commissioner or IBC.  Physical altercations may result in a permanent expulsion.  There will be no money refunds for people that miss games due to conduct.  (Please don’t curse, fight or argue with the referees).

2.         Referees are told to give technicals to any players that curse during games.

3.         Roster changes will not be permitted unless one of your original players is either unable or unwilling to play.  Please contact the league commissioner if this situation arises.  Roster changes are not permitted after Thursday January 14, 2010.
